After receiving the product as ordered, I found this to be packaged extremely well and in pleasant condition.

The package consisted of four DVDs and covered, the “Route of the Southwest Chief”, “Winter Wonderland”, “Colorado’s Scenic Declare Rides”, and “The Potomas Eagle” respectively.

On each the programs, I considered the video photography showing astonishing scenery as other features of the trains both gracious and realistic together with a exquisite commentry with didn’t accumulate bogged down without too distinguished technical detail making it appetizing to both my family and friends. The side trips covered were also very delightful and execute capable breaks whilst watching the long Amtrak journeys.

“Colorado’s Scenic Content Rides” gives a superior tour of the many scenic attractions and rail routes including around the mountains in this fantastic Area, including narrow gage trains, cog rails to Pikes Peak, trolleys and streetcars, Denver’s current light rail and many other attractions. We enjoyed these in actual life as this DVD reminds us of many jubilant memories, and I feel positive that every one should relish this.

“The Potomac Eagle” I found the filming to be wonderful and very realistic from a passenger perspective. The views of wildlife and their natural surroundings were unbelievable.

I found everything on each DVD absolutely enthralling and luscious, and I can thoroughly recommend this DVD spot of four to anyone. Also I would mention the prompt and hassle free service given by Amazon having received my order within a few days over here in Unique Zealand.

The Bee Gees were one of the most indispensable bands of the 20th century, and this 2001 biography is an absolute gem. It was the first DVD I bought, and it’s the only programme for which I have both the DVD and the video. The video (which is 100 minutes) was originally broadcast on A&E and is fabulous and certainly worth getting if you don’t have a DVD player. But the DVD, which is a slightly different mix, is a elephantine 2 hours, with the additional footage (which was gash from the video and television broadcast) sprinkled throughout. Included primarily are additional minutes of archival video footage, but additional bits from interviews and bits of background information have also been tucked in here and there.

The DVD also offers a couple of worthwhile special features. Firstly, there’s the video for the single “This Is Where I Came In”; and secondly, there is an additional 30 minutes or so of interviews with Barry, Robin and Maurice that did not gain it into the presentation. These are unbiased snippets (a diminutive or two on a mishmash of topics), but they are certainly worth checking out.

As for the presentation itself, a fat one-half of the video/DVD is dedicated to chronicling the Gibbs’ early years, and there is plenty of archival footage from home videos and early television performances. In addition to chronicling the rollercoaster path their career has taken, the presentation includes loads about their personal lives–from their marriages, divorces, and children’s births to the tragic deaths of their brother Andy and of their dad. The video/DVD features interviews with each of the three brothers, with their mum Barbara, with Robin’s wife Dweena, with Maurice’s wife Yvonne, with Robert Stigwood and various other individuals in the music industry. What really makes this presentation sparkle are the many, many excerpts from their tremendous body of music that play in the background.

Buy,Download, Or Stream This Is Where I Came In – The Official Story of the Bee Gees! Click Here

In conclusion, this is an outstanding visual biography of an extraordinarily talented trio of brothers–one that is both rich in utter and beautifully presented. The poignancy one feels reach the destroy of the video/DVD is only heightened by our knowledge of the tragic death of Maurice Gibb less than two years after it was made, and it is sadly ironic that this biography has served to sign the slay of an era. With it we have been given a rare and special seek into the lives of three brothers with a rare and special talent who wrote, recorded and performed some of the most magnificent music the world has ever heard. This is the definitive biography of the Bee Gees–a keepsake that will be cherished and enjoyed by both serious and casual fans alike, or indeed by anyone whose lives have been made fair a cramped richer by the music of the Brothers Gibb.

Extremely highly recommended.

This Tape is no less than a complete, thorough and spellbinding toddle throught the history of the Bee Gees, their families, counterparts and freinds lives. Never before this have I had people come me and say they were amazed at the Bee Gees History after viewing this note.

The trot is rapid, the editing meticulous and the sound engineer had his work prick out for him. Taking instrumentals from dozens of songs, the engineers old them as back-up music for glad times to tragedies (one listen to the Robin Gibb advise atomize with the cellos droning from “Miracles Happen”, is shocking) .

Filmed first by father Hugh Gibb in the toddler stage throughout their youth is grand material. The world media takes it on from there.

Interview, primitive song concert clips, candid and concept provoking comments from each of the brothers keeps this video rolling.

It is a section of history and keeps on coming!

I reviewed most of The Modern Series episodes during the initial DVD release which began in 1999. So, the comments here focus on this unique, remastered, edition.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Star Trek: The Original Series – Season Three! Click Here

Doubtless, Paramount will eventually release these episodes on Blu-ray. But even at standard definition, the portray has never looked better. The colors pop off the hide, scratches have been removed, and grain, while noticeable, has been reduced to a bare minimum. Unfortunately, with the improved characterize, flaws in the current production are also more noticeable: shadows from philosophize microphones are occasionally detectable, and the 3rd Season budget cuts present in some of the temporary sets. Aloof, the relate shows the definite care taken with the lighting and composition of the new shots (very different from today’s flatly-lit, shatter & grab style of television filming) .

Of course, the famous feature of this unique release is the original CGI visual effects. Season Three had a number of effects heavy episodes, including “The Tholian Web” and “The Enterprise Incident,” and they aid the most from the fresh effects. Most of the unique state shots are very convincing, remaining in the novel spirit of the series. Only a few of the shots are major deviations from the originals, such as when the shuttle is seen exiting the Enterprise from the outside. Restraint seems to be the watchword here, and I would have liked to have seen a itsy-bitsy bit more done, such as the replacement of some very dated tricorder veil graphics in “The Empath”, and some spoiled dialog looping in “The Cloud Minders.” But the enhanced castle in “Requiem for Methuselah” is simply magnificent, and the expanded backgrounds seen in “Spock`s Brain” and “The Plan to Eden” (two otherwise faded episodes) are subtly done. By the scheme, my uncle, James Drake, was a background extra and can be seen in “The Draw to Eden” as an neat in sickbay. Blink and you’ll miss him as a red shirt in “Turnabout Intruder”.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Star Trek: The Original Series – Season Three! Click Here

Also included here is a totally remastered and restored version of “The Cage”, the novel, rejected, pilot which was shot in 1964 and starred Jeffrey Hunter. 64 minutes in length, it almost looks like a feature film, and in tone is more like an episode of The Next Generation than the Fresh Series. The fresh CGI visuals feature a slightly different version of the Enterprise (based on the fresh pilot model) than seen later in the series. The unrestored version, in alternating color and shaded & white, is also included.

With the exception of The Cage, the episodes also include audio tracks in Spanish and French, although my partner (fluent in Spanish) tells me many of the Spanish translations are not faithful to the English originals. As for bonus features, most are carried over from the 2004 reissue, but the right highlight is Billy Blackburn’s tedious the scenes movies, which exhibit the actors in costume but out of character – a genuine treat.

Although not as well regarded as the first two seasons of “Trip”, the third season detached has some gems. Gene Roddenberry got his wish to have the point to renewed but the expose was moved to Friday evenings when their core audience would be out on dates or in bed. Roddenberry wasn’t as enthusiastic in the third season as previous ones and the loss of Gene L. Coon was noticable even if he did contribute some suited scripts (and one particularly awful one that appeared under Coon’s nom de plume “Lee Cronin” that I suspect was drastically rewritten by novel producer Fred Frieberger entitled “Spock’s Brain”) . What’s peculiar about the third season is that it’s almost like the characters don’t know each other in some episodes where Kirk refers to Spock as “science officer” or objective calls “Bones” doctor. I really never noticed this when it was in syndication.

The third season like the previous two looks extremely favorable and the modern visual effects are a highlight in episodes such as, “Spectre of the Gun”, “The Tholian Web” and “The Enterprise Incident”. In “Gun” the art director uses imaginative surreal region designs consisting of the facades of buildings and the insides expose without walls or ceilings which add to the surrealistic element of the episode. In the latter the “unusual” Klingon designed Romulan War Birds sport the customary “warbird” painting on the bottom of the ships adding details that no doubt would have tickled Roddenberry.

The third season dwelling also includes the new pilot episode for “Star Journey” starring Jeffrey Hunter with fresh visual effects and titles. As with the previous residence, the novel version with the introduction by Gene Roddenberry is included. The latter version is cobbled together from a B&W print of the pilot episode. The only two current extras are a tribute to Associate Producer Robert Justman and “Billy Blackburn’s Star Traipse Treasures” which features behind-the-scenes home video footage of the cast rehearsing, clowning around on the spot and some footage of acquire up tests. The remainder of the special features are ported over from the previous plot although it should be well-known that not ALL of the special features were brought over (which is a bit bizarre) .

I quiet really loathe the packaging as the plastic holder I received was broken (and it was a chronic scrape with my second season position) . Unexcited, the image quality is very superb with nicely cleaned up episodes and current, racy looking visual effects. A pity there was no arrangement for Paramount to include the unusual episode visual effects as share of the DVD. My guess is that we’ll scrutinize that when the expose receives a high def transfer to Blu-ray as an extra.

For hardcore fans, the third season is highly recommended even with the weaker episodes. I am disappointed that Paramount chose NOT to have any commentary tracks. I’m clear

The Uninvited begins with our protagonist, Anna, in a mental ward after dealing with the emotional trauma of losing her mother in a freak fire. As the film begins, her psychiatrist believes she is ready to go succor into the dependable world and she is allowed to disappear encourage in with her father and her older sister, Alex. Unfortunately, father is now seeing Rachel, a nurse who was in charge of Anna’s mother. This odd area is further complicated by the fact that Anna is becoming more and more convinced that her mom wasn’t killed in a freak accident…maybe she was murdered.

So if you have watched ghost movies over the last ten or so years, you basically know this film. It hits all of the major site points, has a couple requisite twists and throws unusual scares at you (it is based on a Korean film, you know) . I expected all of this. I even expected one twist that I opinion was revealed very early on. Even so, the ending tranquil surprised me and I have to say that this film was classy in telling a familiar narrative. The truth is, there hasn’t really been a genre-changing film in the ghost narrative genre for awhile now. The Uninvited is no different. So, what is significant is not what is being told (as there’s nothing recent under the sun), but how it’s told.

Here The Uninvited soars where a lot of modern ghost stories (Unborn, for example) have failed. The storytelling is far classier than it has any true to be, the script is well-written and convincing and the actors are terrific. Emily Browning, playing Anna, practically carries the weight of the film on her slender shoulders. With her forlorn and innocent witness, you really commence to feel for her increasingly desperate quandary. Meanwhile, her sister is played perfectly by Arielle Kebbel who brings a sexy older sibling charm to the proceedings. And then there’s Elizabeth Banks, playing the stepmother who might not be all she says she is.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Uninvited! Click Here

All of this is pitted against a cancel mystery or two and wrapped up in a perfect bow. There’s not a monotonous moment in the film, the scares actually startled me, even when I expected them and some of the ghostly hauntings could give the unusual factor of The Grudge/Ring a rush for their money. It’s effective and very well done.

I definitely recommend going to peek it. The Korean film, A Epic of Two Sisters, is definitely in my scope now, to peek how it stacks up. Go gape The Uninvited if you’re in the mood for a fun, classy and, yes, sometimes scary ghost tale.

As far as PG-13 rated remakes of Asian apprehension films go, you could do a whole lot worse than what you earn with The Uninvited. That is, until you actually own it up to the film that it was remade from, the Korean alarm fracture A Yarn of Two Sisters. Emily Browning stars as Anna, a teenage girl who returns home from a quit in a mental institution, and along with her sister Alex (Arielle Kebbel) reach to distrust and suspect that their father’s (David Strathairn) unique girlfriend (Elizabeth Banks), who was the used nurse for their ailing mother, played a role in their mother’s fiery demise. There’s a edifying amount of murky atmosphere to catch in The Uninvited, and even some twists as well, but none of which that amounts to a whole lot compared to what’s found in A Fable of Two Sisters, which is far, far well-behaved in terms of shocks and a dynamite ending. The scares here are predictable and, well, unscary to say the least, and it’s hard to choose who comes off as creepier, Browning or Banks. Other than having Arielle Kebbel in a bikini, there isn’t a whole lot to really recommend The Uninvited. While it isn’t as unpleasant as PG-13 rated Asian apprehension remakes usually tend to be, in the demolish you’re better off checking out the current film it is remade from if you want to peruse a truly haunting, psychological, and truly scary awe flick.

Quinn tries to prevent a cancel. And the Sliders secure time is interesting backwards. ( grade A- )

Overall This is a gigantic package with or without extras. We
will have to wait and gape what Universal adds.

Finally I can derive rid of those tapes.

Quinn Mallory ( Jerry O Connel) is trying to obtain an anti-gravity arrangement and accidentally creates a draw that opens up a portal. His physics professor Maximillian P. Arturo (John Rhys-Davies), and his girlfriend Wade Wells (Sabrina Lloyd) want to accompany Quinn through the portal to search for where it leads. A washed up singer named Rembrant Brown (Cleavant Derricks) is also accidentally dragged along for the walk, when he is walking seize and sucked through the portal with them. Quinn and the rest of the group “stride” to another dimension of earth. The Sliders soon realize that they would great rather return serve to their believe dimension, but things are not that easy. Once you have entered through the portal, you have to preserve traveling to different dimensions of earth to secure the apt one that will lead abet home. Each episode deals with Quinn, Professor Arturo, Wade, and Rembrant exploring each dimension to secure their design serve to their possess dimension. Unfortunately, once the Sliders have entered a particular dimension, there is only a diminutive amount of time to reopen the portal, and there are only a few seize places within each dimension they can do it from. Finding the correct status to start the portal is often a challenge to the group because each dimension is different than their hold, and can be life threatening at times.

I have heard people often refer to Sliders as a rip off of Quantum Leap. While Quantum Leap was a better reveal, Sliders is completely different. Quinn, Professor Arturo, Wade, and Rembrant are not traveling through time. They are traveling through other dimensions of earth that differ from their contain. This is what makes the expose so titanic, because it is very enthralling to gape how each dimension will be different than the next. The display also offers tons of suspense. There is a “rush against the clock” type feel due to the fact that the group only has a dinky amount of time to win one of the few places within the dimension they can “budge” from. Jerry O Connel and the rest of the cast were righteous in their roles, and it is their performances that construct the reveal so gripping, especially the performance given from Cleavant Derricks as Rembrant Brown. The funniest thing about his character, is that Rembrant never asked to go with them, and was dragged along accidentally. So he often complains about each position which usually provides for a lot of laughs.

Unfortunately, Sliders did not manage to pause colossal for the entire accelerate of the demonstrate. I have to agree with many of the fans and say that the explain went seriously downhill during season three when Professor Arturo left the present. Seasons four and five would become even worse, because the display left FOX to air on the Sci-Fi channel, and by the extinguish of the explain, Rembrant was the only modern character left. However, the first two seasons of Sliders are what develop the expose unpleasant among the top of any television indicate in the sci-fi genre. The best thing about this DVD package, is the fact that you win the two best seasons of the reveal in one status. While it is a shame that the extras are somewhat puny, this position is worth owning fair for the episodes themselves.

A solid 5 stars…

The genre of family-oriented computer lively feature film, invented and pioneered by Pixar Animation Studios, has seen a colossal decline in the past couple of years. Now, every other movie studio churns out another one in hopes of being the next Toy Epic or Finding Nemo. In this reviewer’s concept, the formula has gotten incredibly feeble. It’s the same thing over and over again – Lots of humor and silliness for the kids, with some clever pop-culture references for adults, lots of talking inanimate objects voiced by recognizable and accepted celebrities, a song by a bankable pop star. Wrap it all up in a vivid, vivid package and advertise it on Nickelodeon and network TV and you’ve got a recipe for success. This formula has now been repeated ad nauseam by the movie studios yet parents, in lieu of more knowing and creative children’s entertainment, snatch it up. Objective spy at the chop of upcoming CG family movies slated for 2005. There are at least four, maybe five.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Incredibles! Click Here

However, if there is anything that you can depend on in the stupid world of computer enchanting movies, it is the name Pixar. Those five letters are quite simply synonymous with quality. They started the genre and level-headed no one does it better. From Toy Anecdote to Monsters, Inc. to Finding Nemo, Pixar has consistently produced astonishingly high quality films in both entertainment and artistic value. Pixar’s latest, The Incredibles was written and directed by Brad Bird who gave us the extraordinary 1999 film The Iron Giant. It is yet another staggering success for Pixar Animation Studios.

The Incredibles is not unprejudiced another glowing computer though-provoking movie, it completely reinvents and transcends its tired genre. The film boasts extremely exciting writing and plotting (rewarded with a Best Recent Screenplay Academy Award nomination), top-notch verbalize acting, astounding conceptual invent and, most importantly, the audacity to atomize from the mold and do something different. This is first hinted at by the film’s rating; The Incredibles is Pixar’s first PG-rated movie. It is not fair an assortment of jokes and pop-culture references, it is a fully-realized legend focusing on human (sort of) characters and the struggle of living in a society that you don’t fit in with. There are no talking fish, no talking bugs, no talking toys. It’s a dependable movie with accurate heart told with unbelievable skill and style. It was well-deserving of its Best Appealing Feature Academy Award, however the fact that its only competition was Shrek 2 and Shark Chronicle diminishes that achievement. Yes, it’s also an incredibly fun legend about superheroes with lots of stunts, action, giant robots, superpowers and an heinous villain. I found it to be one of the most satisfying, and best, movies of 2004.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Incredibles! Click Here

Don’t be deterred by the fact that it’s computer inspiring and that it’s from the makers of Finding Nemo. You don’t have to be a child or a parent (I myself am neither) to fancy this film. It’s a colossal movie that anyone can adore and bask in.

I have been and shall remain a lifelong fan not only of movies, but of comical books, heroes, etcetera. The delicious and refreshing The Incredibles blends both together for me – heroes and movies.

I’ll be unbiased – in the past (with the exception of the first 2 Toy Yarn movies), when a trailer for a Pixar film was released, I was less than enthused. I have, however, seen every Pixar film and loved them all. The trailers never looked bewitching to me until the Incredibles. Shrek, Shark Anecdote, Ice Age – they’ve got zip on Pixar!

Getting support to my review of this film, all I can say is The Incredibles is a winner on all levels. Animation is top notch (increasingly better with each film), dispute acting (and the casting selection) is top-notch, cinematography (even though it’s digital) is exceptional, and the win (especially with The Incredibles) is a perfect fit.

The premise is a fitting portrait of today’s world. All the trim heroes go into hiding and melt away into ‘normal life’ because of lawsuits pop up from individuals who didn’t want to be saved, therefore causing a public superhero backlash. Naturally, it doesn’t steal long for heroes to re-emerge and once again put the day from unpleasant concern while being hoisted support into the public spotlight…that’s enough premise/plot…impartial sit abet and delight in the masterfully crafted film by Brad Bird (The Iron Giant) known as The Incredibles.

Whether you’re an adult, child, or man-child, this movie will capture you in and acquire you forget you’re watching a movie. The visuals and legend is engaging and well written. After fair having suffered through about 1/3 of the 77th Annual Oscars (many thanks to the creators of TiVo), the highlight of the night for me was The Incredibles winning Best Titillating Feature of 2004 (and Clint Eastwood winning Best Director and Best Narrate for Million Dollar Baby) . I was so jumpy that the vacuous Hollywood types were going to give the BAF Oscar to the vapid Shrek 2. Thank God the voting members have some sense!

If you like quality films, prefer this DVD now and don’t examine wait on. Delight In!

This is a film that I would heartly recommend to anyone. It’s a perfect film for a Saturday night viewing with friends, at whoever’s house has the biggest conceal and the best speakers. The cinematography is sweeping and rich, and the get is gripping. The legend is account, compelling and romantic (without getting sappy) . Other films of this genre that reach to mind are ‘Cold Mountain’ and ‘Witness’.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Zelary! Click Here

Zelary is also chance to indulge in the work of prolific actresses/actors, most of whose work hardly makes it out of Eastern Europe. Ana Geislerova is currently one of the most celebrated actresses in the Czech Republic. Geislerova plays Eliska, a the young woman who must conceal herself in a limited village and to fit in must marry Joza, a sawmill worker whose life she saved with a blood transfusion. She received her 2nd Czech Lion, the Czech Oscar, for this perfomance. Her co-lead, György Cserhalmi (who looks a exiguous like a detestable between Harrison Ford and John Wayne), puts in a charismatic perfomance as Joza, the strong, taciturn, mid-50s sawmill worker. Cserhalmi has been one the leading actors in Hungary since the 1980s, performing in over 70 films. He was nominated for a Czech Lion (his 2nd, I mediate) for his performance in Zelary. As you will know after reading the DVD screen, Eliska and Joza plunge in admire eventually. The actors’ performances are nuanced and *completely* believeable as their relationship changes from awkward and reserved to intimate.

Other reviews capably discuss the dwelling. Instead I’ll review other production aspects and give some other background.

Review of the subtitles and translation

The English subtitles are well-done and good. But there were a couple scenes where the Czech meaning was noticeably lost because of differences in the structure of English versus Czech. In the beginning on the narrate, they are speaking using formal noun and verb endings, which are weak for people who are not friends or family. Then Eliska says “We shouldn’t be so formal” (meaning they are supposed to be pretending to not be strangers), but it’s poorly translated as “We needn’t be so formal”. Joza then proceeds to exercise the formal structure again and Eliska, somewhat irritatingly, corrects him and makes him inform after her with informal endings. If you don’t understand what’s being said, it’s confusing why Eliska seems to be trying to stammer him how to talk. Later suitable after they pick up off the shriek, Joza uses the formal structure (again) to explain her to be careful about the mud, and her sarcastic response (in Czech) is “Are you first-rate of being of speaking informally? ” to which he responds, tersely, “I am” (meaning “I am well-behaved of that”) . However, in the film the translation of this dialogue is “Must you be so formal? ” to which he responds, “No”. This does not hold the sarcastic tone of Eliska’s staunch phrasing in Czech.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack is difficult to acquire outside the Czech Republic. You can procure it at eshop.evropa2.cz, but the plot is in Czech. You’ll need to search for Zelary. Inspect for the box marked ‘hledej’ (means ’search’) and type in zelary. This should bring up the soundtrack where you can listen to clips at least. The soundtrack is available on the PAL version of the film that was released in the Czech Republic. You’ll fetch it here: cdmusic.cz (the plot is in English, and is by the intention a satisfactory source for Czech films, most subtitled) . Warning the soundtrack seems to be at least partially taken from the movie and has some dialogue. The NTSC version of the DVD comes with English and French subtitles. The PAL version has Czech, English, and German subtitles.

Other stuff on the DVD

There is a short film on “The making of Zelary”. This is beneficial. Gain distinct to check this out. There is also a short film on “Going to the Oscars”. This is ho-hum. The PAL version has the soundtrack and a photo-gallery of shots from the filming and from the film. The photogallery and soundtrack are NOT on the NTSC version.

Trivia

* There is a 28-year inequity between the 2 leads. Geislerova was born in 1976 and Cserhalmi in 1948.

* The 2 leads did not talk at all off the dwelling. Geislerova: “We knew each other only as characters in the film.” There was a language barrier between the leads since Cserhalmi is Hungarian and Geislerova is Czech.

* Cserhalmi delivered many of his lines in Hungarian and Czech was dubbed over later. Geislerova wanted him to do this, since his Czech was breaking her concentration. Geislerova said in an interview: “I didn’t understand a word he was saying.”

* The doctor, Richard, was played by the director’s brother.

* The actor, Miroslav Donutil, who played the priest is noted as a amusing actor and comedian in the Czech Republic.

* Zene, the mother of Helenka in the film, is played by a eminent Czech singer.

* The script is based on the autobiographical novella, ‘Jozova Hanule’ (Joe’s Annie), by KvÄ›ta Legátová. It has been translated into Croatian, German (under the title Der Mann aus Zelery) and Spanish (under the title La Transformacion) . The German translation is available on amazon.co.uk and amazon.de.

Recently, I’ve particularly enjoyed a couple of films that I’d picture as “chick flicks”. ZELARY is the most unique, following on SHALL WE DANCE. I should schedule an appointment with my Family Practice witchdoctor to have my hormone levels checked. I’ll know I’m in dire straits if I become addicted to the Home and Garden TV channel.

It’s Nazi-occupied Prague in 1943. Young Eliska (Anna Geislerová) is a nurse in one of the city’s hospitals and lover to one of its staff surgeons. In her spare time, she’s a courier for the local Resistance. When one of the network is captured by the Gestapo, it’s decided to evacuate Eliska to the mountain hamlet of Zelary accompanied by one of its residents, Joza (György Cserhalmi), a powerful older man that Eliska recently nursed wait on to health after his injury in a sawmill accident. So that her sanctuary in the village seems natural, and in order that she be popular by the other inhabitants, Eliska and Joza wed. For the city-bred and sophisticated Eliska, her marriage in this rustic state is hardly an act of treasure. While Jozy is a obedient and kind man, he’s also a rural bumpkin, who lives in a dirt-floor cabin without electricity, running water, or an indoor loo; he doesn’t even rob regular baths.

As you would correctly infer from the title of this review, this alliance of necessity turns into a fancy affair. The charm of this beautifully photographed film is that the memoir unfolds without the saccharine sweetness of a fairy chronicle romance. Indeed, after two years in the mountains, by which time the plot is, um, “liberated” by advancing Soviet troops, Eliska experiences both the sublime and sordid facets of human communal existence anywhere. An ending perhaps more tragic than the good romantic would steal doesn’t hiss the fact that the legend illustrates the ancient saw that “fancy is where you acquire it”, and that in anyone’s past there may be a time span and experiences that add to his/her character depths that are unplumbable to novel friends and lovers.

All of the acting performances in ZELARY were pleasant, and that of Cserhalmi as the simple, salt-of-the-earth Joza was especially curious. ZELARY was a viewing pleasure that I didn’t want to waste. And if that doesn’t present a five-star film, then I don’t know what does.

Some of the best ever episodes of “The Simpsons” are included here as the reason this entire franchise has been so successful is for me because of the bright script and the genius of James L Brooks. The drawings of the characters are naturally tranquil raw as they are not the finished product that we have become ancient to over the years but this is acceptable given the quality of the gags and the colossal story-telling. These episodes though have been transferred from a awful videotape master as we frequently net the gleaming, curved lines that you derive on a poor video when the tape sticks to the playing magnetic head of the player and this is very evident in every episode which took away a expansive deal from my overall enjoyment of the dvds. I don’t remember seeing these when they were screened on tv and so it’s unhappy that for a “Collector’s Edition” that we should derive such awful dvd represent quality transfer although I have to say the sound quality on Dolby 5.1 surround is handsome splendid.

Overall, stout episodes, sound quality but abominable describe quality transfer from what appears to be a videotape with all its inherent limitations.

I watched Schoolhouse Rock when I was a kid. My siblings and I were riveted on Saturday mornings. Those videos helped me tremendously. Now, I’m a teacher with struggling kids and English Learners. Whenever we have extra time, they want to peep these videos. Kids from other classrooms want to reach and notice. My 13-year-old is hypnotized every bit as distinguished as my 3rd graders. How gigantic is that?

I purchased this DVD to benefit my third grader learn his multiplication facts for school. He enjoys watching and looks forward to each modern video as he progresses with his facts. It has taught him a couple fun tricks to assist with his multiplication. I definitely need to supplement this with flashcards, but it is a fun rupture for him to view this DVD.
